Family Portrait 全家福

Found a quite nice meaningful Chinese New Year short film on Youtube, titled "Family Portrait 全家福" by James Lee, I thought of sharing it here:

This short film begins with a boy holding an old photo album, wondering who are those people in those old photographs. He then turn to his older brother, sister and parents to ask who are those people. However, none of them really care what he actually asks,  they only concentrate on what they are doing that time, being busy. When he finally ask his grandmother, she properly answered him cheerfully as though she is living those  past life.

When it reached to the final quarter of the video, surprisingly for me, it turned into a comedic part, the grandmother scolded everyone of the table not to play with their smartphones while having their dinner. However, it turn out that it was her own phone received a notification on her game. !?!WHAT?!??!! and she asked everyone to help in her game. It's hilarious when the mother ask: "Shouldn't we only play it after dinner?" and the grandmother shouted literally: "Of course not!!!". Haha...

The final message which this short film wish to deliver is pretty meaningful. I would certainly support it.

I believe the most precious moments in life can't be captured by photographs.
We must remember to live the moments as they happen.

What's The Most Dangerous Place on Earth?

Here's another random science video Youtube channel, called Vsauce, hosted by Michael where he talks about random scientific facts or trivia. He often links each and other facts he talks about, with the direct connection or indirectly, causing it to be a little funny of the way he talks. I'm not really sure how to describe it well, but it definately is one of the Youtube channel to be watch. Here's the video link below.

This video titled "What's The Most Dangerous Place on Earth?", he talks a little on facts of locations on Earth which is dangerous to human, pathogenic bacteria or virus which cause high death toll and other related   facts.

It's a pretty good channel, so tell me if you've watch it too, and like what Vsauce always says: "Thanks for watching".

The Romantic and Idol; Dating shows

Recently found out about this Korean show which is in "Dating" themed program named The Romantic and Idol by tvN, which actually is a spin-off show from The Romantic, another dating program which feature non-celebrities while  The Romantic and Idol featured Idol groups.

This is kinda a fresh dating show for me, since MBC's We Got Married. This is a short episode show which are just filmed in 3 days and 4 nights, compared to the long period filming WGM. This show actually attracts me more as the how was rather simple and have the need to make decisions that make viewer more nervous and excited while watching.

Although both TRI and WGM can't actually be compared as their concept and format are different, but I would prefer short dating show rather than long dating show. WGM actually had run for years already and I'm guessing they are running out of unique ideas to be develop while short dating show like TRI would have more chances of changing their format and easily navigate through their concept. Long-run dating shows which might be "played" by casts with the writer's scripts, would have risk as it always happened: cast's scandals, viewers' disinterests, casts personal life, especially love-life involved and others more. While short-run show would be able to avoid those matter and continue their show.

Well, I'll be sharing on The Romantic and Idol first season soon. Till then...

Another Youtube Channel share: Myish

So, there was a Youtube Channel called Myish, which talks about western pop music and celebrities. Uploaded today was a segment hosted by Michael Buckley, The ISH-List titled "K-Pop, J-Pop, & UK-Pop: 7 Songs You should Know from around The Globe". I'm not particularly very interested in their video but I find this segment and the host is some kind of hilarious on his way of hosting. Well, that's not today's topic.

The video shown today was listing 7 songs recommended by Myish from around the world supposely... It showed songs from Japan, English, Scotland, Sweden,  Latin, Malaysia and South Korea artists.

Frankly, it surprised me that Malaysia actually made it on the list since not many foreign knows about Malaysian music. On the second place of the list was Yuna, who I actually knows almost nothing about her. While Malaysia might be famous for our little few famous Chinese singers in Chinese populated countries like China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, but there might not be many who know about  Malaysia's Malay singers who actually have talents. It just shocked me. I maybe a little bit of childish, but yes, I can hardly say foreigner know Malaysian Music, except countries named above.
[Note: I don't listen to Malay or Indian Music, so I don't actually know their influence range of country. So, pardon me for little racist.]

Well, I don't have much to say, just want to share it out, in case there are people who are listening. Goodnight.

K-Pop Music Festival

It's the time of the year where Korean major broadcasting stations holds year-ends ceremonies celebrating the closure of another great year of K-POP. There are three stations which held these ceremonies, which is KBS's Music Festival, MBC's Gayo Daejaejun and SBS's Gayo Daejun

Links to the performances can be found through allkpop's website:
KBS's Music Festival
Full Performance

MBC's Gayo Daejaejun
Part 1   Part 2   Part 3

SBS's Gayo Daejun
Part 1   Part 2   Part 3   Colors of K-Pop

After looking through the videos, I would say that SBS have the best ceremony among those 3 stations. KBS have rather plain stage layout and performance lineups. Nothing very special about the arranged performances, which quite saddens me. Usually, KBS's Music Bank show rather good quality stage layout, not to mention its camerawork. However, it isn't the case for the Music Festival, the camerawork are horrible, I can hardly focus or the artist's performances, if I'm able to ignore the terrible sound systems. The mics are not working well, making certain artist "expose" their lack of "talents" and stage preparations. I'll talk about that later.

MBC though, is not bad, but I'm have a little disappointment as I'm expecting the best overall performances among those three stations, since I consider them having the best music shows among the three. The lineups are better than KBS and there are more variety of special performances which is quite interesting, including The Adam Couple and SunHee Couple's performances. As for the stage, there are a few stage being setup, i believe, at least 3, including the pre-recorded. For me, it would look better if all artist perform at one stage or a combined side-to-side stage than a indoor-outdoor stage.

Since SBS have the best ceremony I've seen, I would congratulate them for having the best performance concept, lineup, and special performances  While MBC divides the artists into two groups, SBS have special collaborations between idol groups, grouping them into four theme, producing and perform songs made for the theme. Well, I'm not saying the concept is new or anything, but it did attracts attention on the idol's collaborations. The stage setup and layout is quite interesting despite having quite limited space for the fans to watch. Moreover, SBS's Gayo Daejun have more lineup of rookies compared to KBS and MBC, which I think is lacking of considering there's so many rookies group debuted on 2012.

K-Pop 2012

I know that it was nothing new that there are for sure some idol groups that are lacking at their talents, specially vocals. But, for me it wasn't particularly their vocals that I focus on when I'm watching their performances, it was their overall performance as one, or rather not focusing on their vocals particularly. It wasn't only their vocals that are the focus of a performance, it's their dances, body movements, expression, the beat of the songs and much more. Viewing as this, it will more likely to make a performance more enjoyable. It's not that I'm saying that vocals as singer are not important or that dance-singing at the same time is impossible, it's just that I think there are certain groups of "sensitive" fans or people out there, which keeps poking at one's weakness instead of trying to enjoy the music. Of course, there are different opinions from everyone, but I'm just trying to say that I would be better if people give more of "constructive" voice rather than "destructive" voice.

There's another opinions of mine, which might be silly, is that I think it's time for South Korean government start to "limit" or have quality/quantity control over the debuting groups and their companies. It seems that at the end of 2011 and on 2012, K-Pop industries bloomed to a sense that everybody wants to grab a piece of it, resulting producing some groups of K-Pop idols that are not completely ready or still lack of something to debut, like they are afraid to be late for getting the piece of fortune.

On the other hand, "matured" idol groups, I called them, are really ripped and currently harvesting from their hard works from the past years. Groups like Girls' generation, B2ST, Infinite, SHINee, Sistar, Wonder Girls, U-Kiss, ZE:A, Miss A, Secret and others, show their maturity not of their age but rather their performance experience and confidence through out their songs. Their song's genre matured from the cutesy image into more powerful and overwhelming Idol.

Well, that will be things I wanted to say for now, any opinion can be commented below.

Earth is round: 10 Reasons

Okay, this will be the first science video shared on my blog. It is published by MinutePhysics on Youtube. This channel provides science physics videos, which allow people to learn physics easily and more understandable. Just published today was a video called "Top 10 Reasons Why We Know the Earth is Round", in which the channel shows scientific and sensible reasons showing "Earth is Round", which I would consider a sort of leisure science.

I would like to point out that how many people actually realize or could connect everything we saw daily to be linked? We knew what was happening or how something could happen, but most of the time, we just don't link them together, silly us... haha... Well, I hope those who watching enjoys the video, Goodnight!

Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice Personal Review

Released on July 14, 2012 in Japan, Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice, is the 15th Pokémon anime movie released. This movie features Kyurem, the Boundary Pokémon, as well as Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion, the titular "Sacred Swordsmen", and a new Pokémon Keldeo, a training-to-be a "Sacred Swordsmen" and the fourth of the Swords of Justice. I won't be talking about the plots[don't wanna be a spoiler], in case anyone had different opinion than mine.

I find that this movie is quite boring comparing to several previous Pokémon movie, which includes White: Victini and Zekrom, Black: Victini and Reshiram, Zoroark: Master of Illusions and Arceus and the Jewel of Life, which the plot have very exciting adventures and some of it includes wonderful legends and myths of the Pokémon world. Although this 15th Pokémon movie indeed feature several legendary Pokémon, but it lacks the elements of adventure. In my opinion, the movie fails to show the real training Keldeo that have done before challenging Kyurem and after Keldeo's defeat with Satoshi. It would appeal more to the audiences I think.

In previous movies, the characters and the Pokémons showed rather more hardship to achieve their goals. However, in this movie, the storyline advance very quickly, making the story less interesting. There's other things that are lacking in this movie which I couldn't point out or express. After so long and so many generations or Pokémons, i think Pokéfans would eventually either bored or starting to get bored, thirst for fresh theme and features. That's my opinion, what yours?
